Work on repertoire

  • In repertoire sessions, you’ll choose one or more songs—originals or covers—to work on. Each session is

    • tailored to improve

    • vocal technique,

    • expression,

    • interpretation,

    • style based on your chosen material.

The goal is to build confidence and refine your performance with targeted exercises that support the demands of your repertoire.

Sessions run in Sydney’s Northern Beaches or online to suit your needs.

Skill training

  • Skill training builds the foundations of a strong, healthy, and flexible voice.
It’s a step-by-step process focused on goals like:

    • vocal agility,

    • pitch control,

    • range, dynamics,

    • and more.

A key part of this work is generalisation—being able to keep the skill over time and apply it in different singing contexts. A skill is truly mastered only when it becomes consistent and transferable.

Gender-affirming singing training

  • Gender-affirming singing training is designed to help transgender people develop a singing voice that reflects their gender identity.
You’ll decide the goals based on what feels right for you—not on binary categories like “male” or “female” voice.
    Key areas include:

    • Pitch control

    • Repertoire choices

    • Timbre (tone quality)

    • Non-verbal expression

Flowchart showing singing lesson steps: consultation, assessment, goals, training, evaluation, and refinement online or at Vocal care Sydney's Northern Beaches studio

Are lessons the same for everyone?

No. This is just a general outline to give you an idea. Every person has a different voice, body, background, personality, and taste in music. Each of these shapes both your goals and how we’ll work toward them.
Lessons are always a shared process. We’ll make decisions together.
I’ll be your guide, but you choose the direction.
